It's a staple part of any good Mardi Gras diet and it's on this weekend. The fun and frivolous day out known to all as Fair Day sees gay and lesbians of every variety as well as children, dogs and the occasional ferret taking in the fun, sun and queer goodness this Mardi Gras festival favourite has to offer.
From food and shopping stalls through to live performances including Sydney's hottest twosome, Garcon Garcon and rotating DJs, punters are spoiled for choice in the entertainment department. When it comes to queer activities you can't beat a tug-of-war between gay men and lesbians where the results aren't particularly surprising.
It all comes together with Fair Day's annual dog show where the theory that lesbians are partial to cattle dogs called Jess, rings true. Think prissy pugs, camp cavoodles, burly Border Collies and you get the picture.
