The Sydney Opera House's amazing 2012 kids programme has been announced!
The 'House has announced yet another brilliantly curated line-up of music, film, theatre and comedy aimed at Sydney's under-age culture lovers. The programme will feature acclaimed touring international theatre-makers like Catherine Wheels, well-loved children's entertainers like the List Operators, and a huge range of new works and classic Australian writing.
Returning after causing a stir with the theatre-going nippers in 2011, the Creative Play programme will continue to engage kids in the arts during each of the school holiday breaks. Expect a colourful and continually growing creative garden during the summer break; an exotic and dramatic remote island in April; a silly story house in July; and a wild forest in the September-October holidays. You'll find Creative Play in the Opera House's Western Foyer and it's free to participate.
Babies Proms will also be back in 2012, and will offer a series of four concerts – The Four Seasons, Music for Tutus, Nursery Rhymes and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas – to introduce young children to the wonderful world of the orchestra.
