Soft toys dangling and bobbing from strings will soon be added to the cool threads and wares of Paddington Markets. For a six-week season the Sydney Puppet Theatre and Puppetease companies are taking over the Paddington Uniting Church with their succinctly titled show, Puppetshows at Paddo.

Shows such as Funky Fins, Oh Rats, Things with Wings and The Power Puppets will offer laughter, magic, education and old-fashioned fun for the entire family. The shows will feature some of Australia's leading exponents of the art, including Steve Coupe and Ross Browning. Browning – who operated Blinky Bill in ABC's The New Adventures of Blinky Bill from 1984 to 1991 – has 30 years' experience creating educational performance for young people.

Puppetshows at Paddo will happen 11am & 1.30pm every Sat, 8 Nov–13 Dec, at Paddington Markets.
