Disney on Ice

Leave it to Disney to put on a show that leaves you haggard from close proximity to young children yet more youthful than a Botox birthday party. That's the power of Disney magic.

Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey - in which M&M, accompanied by Donald, Daisy, and Goofy, sojourn across the world on in a flash bang of lights, music and pixie dust... oh, and skillfully synchronized choreography and masterful ice skating - is about to hit Sydney. for the first time

With excerpts and scenes from the Lion King, 101 Dalmatians, the Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and Lilo and Stitch, this Disney extravaganza brings together films old and new - all sliced, diced and reanimated via brand new song and dance numbers.

But watching the action from behind the scenes, Time Out found a magical mechanical wonderland fueling the Disney dreamworld - 565 lighting fixtures, 276 sound effects cues, a total of 41 skaters hailing from eight different countries (ranging in age from 18 to 40) and 13 crew members, all of them travelling Australia in 14 trucks and lugging 220 costumes... and four laundry machines to clean them! Phew...

Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey hits Sydney at the Acer Arena from the 16th to 27th of July.
