And it doesn’t smell.
Spookiest costume As scary as any Halloween costume you’ll see, Gene Simmons is a firm favourite.

The Costume Shop Waterloo

Nestled in a nondescript corner of Waterloo's industrial estate, the Costume Shop has 12 rows of costumes organised by category and neatly filed in folders at the front of the store. With brilliant costumes to rifle through from Ghostbusters to giant monkeys, even the searching is enjoyable.

A stone's throw from Central Station, Snog the Frog is delightfully kitsch and stuffed full of awesome ensembles. There are celebrity masks from George Bush to Saddam Hussein and a vast collection of outfits behind the counter. With no space to browse, the website provides a comprehensive directory of all the shop's costumes and accessories.

They make in bulk for stage productions and corporate events and even hire out to the measly fancy dress partygoer. The best bit? Hire costs average around $65 and you can dress up as Vegemite or Aeroplane Jelly.

Favourite costume I could just be living a sheltered existence, but this is the first time I've ever seen a 'Ripper Rita' immortalised in costume.
