Alexandria Family Christmas Concert
Former Play School-er Rhys Muldoon is set to host this jam-packed and totally free Christmas shindig, where Women of Soul, Justine Clarke and Swing Patrol will have the whole family grooving to a huge range of musical genres. Surry Hills Family Christmas Concert
Muldoon, Clarke and Swing Patrol are also making a Surry Hills appearance, where rockabilly band the Hollywood Hombres will put a cool twist on Christmas (as is to be expected in the 2010 postcode). Babies Proms: Christmas Bells
Join the Babies Proms Orchestra and a special Christmas chamber choir to sing in the spirit of the season with family and friends at the last of the 2011 Babies Proms concerts. Sydney Opera House, Bennelong Point, Sydney 2000.
Carols in the Domain
The city’s biggest carols night returns and the folks behind the event are keeping the line-up tightly under wraps. It's always a starry evening, though, so be sure to head to the domain to sing along to the yuletide classics in support of the Salvation Army. The Domain, Art Gallery Rd, Royal Botanic Gardens 2000.
Carols by the Tree
Head down to Darling Harbour for carolling beneath the epic neon Christmas tree every weekend during December. Local a cappella groups Sway, Heartbeat, Sorelle, Blues Point and the Hollys will be leading the way and keeping the crowds in tune. Convention Centre Forecourt, Darling Harbour 2000.
Christmas Lights at Sydney Town Hall
Festive projections on the historic Sydney Town Hall will make an inspiring backdrop for the quest for stocking-stuffers. Sydney Town Hall, George St, Sydney 2000. (02 9265 9333). Until 25 Dec, from 8.30pm. Free.
David Jones Christmas Windows
One of Time Out’s favourite Sydney traditions has already opened for another year. Head down to the David Jones Elizabeth Street store to check out the Christmas Windows in which little marionettes have been used to recreate carols including ‘Silent Night’, ‘We Three Kings’ and ‘The Little Drummer Boy’.
