There's a new Star in the Sydney sky
Opened in 1997, the casino formerly known as Star City had a massive revamp in 2011. The $870 million facelift saw the building given a new glass façade facing harborside, two new signature restaurants – BLACK by ezard and Balla – which act as the flagships of the ongoing full renovation of the space from gambling palace to all-in-one entertainment hub.
Many of the old classics reamin, though: the Lyric Theatre and Star Theatre stage shows, Bistro 80 offers interesting takes on bistro classics, and there’s a revamped luxury hotel with spa. Watch sports at Sports Theatre & Bar and catch live music at their in-house venue Rock Lily.
LightRail Star City. Monorail Harbourside. Bus 443, 449.
