What are you up to?
My band Youth Group are having a break and I have been
writing some songs, and am going to play them solo and with some guests at a
residency.
Why should people get along to your show?
It's a chance to hear songs in a very raw form. Some of these songs are still
sketches. Personally, I like
watching performances like that. Everything is heightened. The stakes are
high. The chance of failure is
great. Solo shows are kind
of like a blood sport. Or a
violent nature documentary.
What's the best pub/venue/bar/restaurant in Sydney, and
why?
The Low Bar.
Lovely staff, drinks both fancy and plain, low lighting, a grand piano
built in 1926, open until 2am, even on a Sunday.
What's the best joke you've heard recently?
I can't remember jokes. It's actually a medical condition.
Xbox 360 vs Wii vs PS3: who wins?
A book.
What's the best song about Sydney, and why?
Darren Hanlon, ‘Hold On': "footpaths that weren't built for
bikes, let alone people". If
there's a better description of Parramatta Road I'm yet to hear it.
