Copland's signature work gets an airing

In a celebration of Copland’s 1978 visit to Sydney, Symphony for the Common Man brings together Copland’s famous third symphony mixed with his idol Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Takemitsu’s From me flows what you call time.
Growing up under the influence of Debussy and various successors including Takemitsu, Aaron Copland perfected his distinctive ‘American Voice’ which lead to his third and final symphony that lead to the thrilling climax and reference of his Fanfare for the Common Man.
