Making their Australian debut, Berlin’s renowned Kuss Quartet play alongside internationally acclaimed Japanese violist Naoko Shimizu.
The Quartet will also give an insider’s glimpse to a contemporary European legend when they perform Officium Breve in Memoriam Andreae Szervánszky by Hungarian composer György Kurtág, having worked in depth on this memorial piece with the composer.
The Kuss Quartet was formed in 1991 by the two violinists, Jana Kuss and Oliver Wille, when they were in their teens. Friends from a young age, Kuss and Wille were both students at the East Berlin Hanna Eisler music school.
