What are you up to?
At the moment we've been rehearsing our new bass player Simon [Fasolo]. He's been a really good friend of ours for years and he's been brought into the fold to take Tom [King]'s spot, who we encouraged to go pursue his own project. This coming tour will be his initiation. We're also actively working on new songs and demos with a goal to have another record out in the next 12 months. It's an incredibly creative time for the band.
Why should people get along to your show?
Just to see a really fun, honest rock'n'roll show. There's no pretense to our performance. We get up there and play our songs really well and try to make sure everyone leaves the show with a smile on their face. We have a ball playing live and I think it rubs off on the crowd.
What's the best pub/venue/bar/restaurant in Sydney, and why?
For venue I'd have to say the Annandale. We've played that stage a dozen times and it always feels like home. I'm hard pressed to think of another venue that has the musical pedigree of that place. Also, they serve noodles to die for! We also love Betty's Soup Kitchen. It's a great place for poor starving musos to fill their bellies and be entertained by the crazy owner all at the same time.
What's the best joke you've heard recently?
I don't think you'd publish the last joke I heard! I do like Demitri Martin's sense of humour though. Reminds me a lot of the late, great Mitch Hedberg. I think one of my favourite Demitri jokes is: "I was at a party the other night, and I saw a guy wearing a leather jacket, and I thought, 'That is cool.' Like 10 minutes later, I saw a guy wearing a leather vest and I thought, 'That is not cool.' That's when I realised cool is all about leather sleeves."
Xbox 360 vs Wii vs PS3: who wins?
I'm all about the Xbox 360 because I was given one so it wins simply in terms of value for money...
What's the best song about Sydney, and why?
'Hot in the City' for sure. No wait. That wasn't about Sydney at all. Oh I'm thinking of 'Humid in the City'....oooh that was bad wasn't it? I'll stick to writing songs rather than jokes.
End of Fashion play at the Annandale Hotel on Fri 27 Feb, Manly Fisho's on Sat 28 Feb and Carringbah Bizzo's on Sun 1 Mar.
