SIMA at the Sound Lounge Tap your feet and nod your head to some of the best local, interstate and international contemporary jazz and improvising artists, performing on behalf of Sydney's Improvised Music Association - Australia's largest non-profit organisation dedicated entirely to jazz. Every Fri & Sat night.

The Basement  One of Sydney's most well-loved underground live music venues, the Basement regularly plays host to some of the biggest names in the jazz business, from local heroes to international superstars.

The Vanguard
Nestled in the artistic hub of Newtown with its quirky, 1920s charm and cosy appeal, this popular New Orleans-inspired live music venue/restaurant is renowned for bringing top-notch local and international blues and jazz music to the stage.

505 For those in the know, this clandestine artists' warehouse, hidden in the back streets of Surry Hills, provides a rustic backdrop for experimental jazz performances of a high standard – including those from renowned jazz group Alister Spence Trio. It draws an eclectic crowd, sprawled out along dusty wooden floorboards and old couches. The location is a secret, which makes it just that much cooler.

Excelsior Hotel The Cam McAllister sextet, the Jon Rose Quartet, and Dave Macrae are just some providing jazz lovers with their weekly fix at the Excelsior as part of an initiative by Sydney's Jazzgroove Association. Every Tue.
