The Falls Music and Arts Festival is one of Australia’s longest running festivals, now in its ninth year. Woodford Folk Festival

Each year over New Years every hippy, greenie, forest child, African drummer, and folksy type head north of Brisbane to the little town of Woodford. The permanent festival site is set on a massive old farm, complete with ponds, campgrounds, showers, music tents and one of the steepest natural amphitheatres on the east coast.

There are teepees, tye dyed fabric by the tonne, markets and one of the most interesteing and varied lineups of any music festival, with a focus of folk, world, blues and Indigenous music.

When it rains it quickly becomes known as Mudford, but as far as places to unwind from the 9-5 grind go, the Woodford Folk Festival can't be beat.
