DJ, restaurateur

Andrew Levins has had a pretty varied professional run since he started DJing in his teens. He set up Heaps Decent – the charity that brings music programmes to underprivileged kids – with Diplo and Nina Las Vegas and has hosted festivals like Parklife for the charity’s primary benefactor, Fuzzy, off the back of his skills behind the decks. Oh, and he opened Haymarket hot dog haven the Dip, at the front of Goodgod Small Club on Liverpool Street, thanks to his clubbing connections. “My fiancée Bianca [Khalil] and I did it blindly – we have no experience running a restaurant or cooking professionally, but a good opportunity arose through our friends at Goodgod.” The joint has been going great guns since mid-2011, and Levins has just released his first cookbook, Diner: Real Food. He’s now keen to keep the wordsmithing going – and the CV evolving. “I want to focus on writing next, and TV presenting and video work.”
