Time Out Sydney

And the winners are…

It’s been a pretty spectacular year for food, Sydney. We’ve seen Macleay Street overtake Crown Street as the hottest restaurant strip in the city, and Japanese-style eats fuse with Italian and Nordic to create a new sort of cuisine. The food at the Opera House finally matched the building’s egalitarian, idiosyncratic qualities in the form of Bennelong restaurant and Lennox Hastie at Firedoor proved that cooking over fire doesn’t just have to be about slamming flavours into meat; it can also be about letting produce speak for itself.

This year was also one of the most creative years in food we’ve seen for some time. And nowhere demonstrated more raw creativity than ACME – which cleaned up at the awards for their on-the-edge, free-styling approach to food.

It’s been an epic year, and we had a killer night celebrating it at our Food Awards shindig at the Morrison Bar. To hear all about our night, check out our recap.
