$3 Flying Fajita Sistas - Taco Tuesdays

$3 tacos and shots of tequila - oh, lordy. The soft taco filled with your choice of chicken, beef or pork has got to be the best value of its kind in town. There's also the most deadly hot sauces known to man. Approach these with extreme caution - they're so hot you'll feel like you've rubbed your guts with Drano.

$5 Mamak - Roti canai with curry sauce

Roti canai comes on a military issue-style metal plate with separate sections for the curry and flat bread. And what they lack in atmosphere they make up for in tasty snacks (the most exciting thing about it is the hotplate where they make the roti). But the food more than makes up for anything lacking in the style department.

$5 Five O's - $5 meals

Everything is five bucks. Rife with backpackers and Coogee locals scouting for a cheap meal, they offer the likes of steak, pizza and schnitzel with your choice of the usual suspects (chips, mash, salad). It can get super dooper loud at times (it's particularly heinous on weekends), but it's the best-value food the Coog has to offer.
