Barefoot Coffee Traders

A bustling Manly Cafe offers good coffee and chai (but not much to chew on)

Be prepared to knock knees with your neighbours at Barefoot Coffee Traders – it occupies a space the size of a generous cupboard. It's definitely a case of everyone lumping in together for the love of good coffee at this cosy, open-plan café. If you take your coffee cut with milk you'll be getting the Toby's Estate fair trade organic beans while the long blacks and straight shots use the Single Origin grinds. Owners Michael Jordan and Steve Eden were disinclined to have any food on the menu, but were willing to compromise - so if you're feeling like a little something it's a waffle or nothin'. Why waffles? Why not? And if you are looking to ride a sugar wave you should order them with chocolate on top. If you just aren't that into coffee but want to get involved, the chai tea is a decent brew - let it sit as long as you can for best results. Barefoot Coffee Traders can get pretty busy so if you have trouble finding a stool to perch on, there is a second location opening just around the corner on East Esplanade. The new digs are adjacent to the new Adriano Zumbo store, so you can grab a sweet treat first and then head next door to Barefoot for a quality cup o' Joe.
