What is Awkward? We hear you ask

Awkward is a daytime coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch hangout. And a late-night eating house. And a cocktail and wine bar! It's a lot of things.

From Wednesday to Sunday each week, there are live music acts plus random dance performances, burlesque shows and live statue installations.

On the cocktail list you'll find drinks like the Buffalo Woman (intriguing!) and the food is a blend of Modern Australian, Brazilian, Fijian and Asian. It's also one of those rare venues where food is available until the wee hours of the morning (until 1am on Wednesdays and Sundays, and 3am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays).

Guests are invited to bring their instruments along on Sunday to join in with the jazz band – board games are more than welcome at Awkward, too, and there's plans for a book exchange down the track. Or perhaps you'd just like a relaxing drink on the terrace or 'out back' in the astro-turf Garden Room.
