Summer pop-up shops

Some of our favourite local stores and designers are dishing up the goods at short-term pop-up venues this month

Shakuhachi pop-up
Shakuhachi has got your Summer afternoon sorted with their pop-up shop on Gould Street in Bondi. Drop by and pick up a slice of ultra-feminine and gypsy-bent Shakuhachi goodness before heading down to soak up some sun and surf at the beach.

We Are Handsome pop-up
The good designer-market folk of 100 Squared have recruited home-grown swimwear geniuses We Are Handsome. And Indhra Chagoury and Jeremy Jules Somers design the kind of swimsuits that daydreams are made of – from their scooped-back panther one-pieces to the sun-drenched peacock bikini and the poppy-field landscape leotard. We want all of them.

Ellery Land pop-up
With the laser-sharp cuts and quirky colour-ways that Ellery are loved for, it’s hard not to drop everything to race on over to the Strand Arcade for the label's super chic pop-up.

The Flower Drum
Surfboards, hot swimsuits, good coffee, cute vintage dresses, locally produced art and beautiful fresh flowers characterise this Northern Beaches pop-up.

Summer by Somedays
Summer by Somedays means hard-to-find labels to the tune of Dr Denim, Resterods and Gram shoes; bargains galore and something for both well-dressed ladies and gentlemen. They’ll be living on Crown street with daily stock updates for a limited time only.

Projects at Poepke: Erin Lightfoot
Paddington boutique Poepke continue their designer-in-residency programme with Brisbane print and jewellery artist Erin Lightfoot. A range of Lightfoot's art deco-inspired porcelain bangles, earrings and brooches have popped up on the William Street shop floor for two weeks only, so get in quick.

Evie Group pop-up
Alex Gilmour and Dominic Chong are Sydney design duo Evie Group, and together the young guns craft elegant and minimal furniture and homewares. This month the pair will pop up at Clarence Street design hub Gaffa Gallery to showcase and sell their Spun lighting collection – a beautiful series based on a spinning-top toy.

Fleur Wood pop-up
Soft and feminine local label Fleur Wood has launched a summer pop-up in the sun-kissed suburb of Avalon. As well as playing host to the current collection, the pop-up also houses a beautifully curated selection of one-off samples, swimwear, beach-bent accessories and homewares and collector antiques.
