20 fashion bloggers tells us what makes them tick
This is no hair magazine, folks. Instead, to celebrate the launch of their new product range, TONI&GUY Blogged & Bound takes 20 fashion bloggers as muse, showing what makes them, and their wardrobes, tick. In a short 300-or-so words and an accompanying photo shoot, we are taken into the world of each blogger to learn a little about their work, their aesthetic, their clothes and, of course, their hair.
From the outrageous technicolour up-do of Violet Le Beaux and the long Rapunzel-like locks of Anniieemal’s Annie, to the sleek and wearable balayaged ponytails of Thessy and Yiota from Sabo Skirt, the full style gamut is run. And Boy Moment’s Darren Luk and Oh Jamie’s shoots offer a little bold inspiration for the boys, too.
The broad range of eras and aesthetics will ensure the photography appeals to just about anyone. It's kind of like people-watching, with no chance of being caught staring.
It’s nice to see these online aesthetes out of cyberspace and on the page, but references to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram and the blogs themselves are a little frustrating in the print format without the immediate gratification of click-to-see searching. Those that want to take it over to the WWW, however, will be greatly rewarded for their effort. The book’s accompanying website is packed with exclusive Blogged & Bound film content to keep you engaged.
The Wardrobe Index at the back of the book is a handy tool for shoppers, but we would have liked to have seen which products were used to achieve which looks instead of just flicking past the Product Range as you would with an appendix.
Overall, TONI&GUY Blogged & Bound has achieved its aim of marrying hair styling and wardrobe choices in readers’ minds.
