Zimmermann kick off day two of MBFWA with playful confidence
Nicky Zimmermann's Clique Clique collection saw a blend of uniquely cut swimwear, voluminous silk jackets, and playful tailored dresses bring the vast Koskela warehouse space to life.
Classic varsity sportswear silhouettes were transformed into floral patchwork bomber jackets, finely knitted hood sweaters and teamed with bowling bags in white leather. The lace, chiffon and silk softened the harsh silhouettes making for playful, feminine wearable separates. The palette of peach, mint and eggshell blue was complimented by unique patterns. Soft pastel watercolours, pink paint splatters, saturated tropical prints and of course bold florals – were all very Zimmermann.
Never one to keep it simple, garments got an extra edge with polka dot laser cut circles perforating jackets, swimwear and dresses, giving each piece a lot of texture. The perforated motif continued into lattice lace dresses and jackets in simple mint and white.
Swimwear pieces, though not practical, were certainly beautiful – off the shoulder peplum waisted body suits and long sleeved cross-over crop tops adorned long legged, bronzed models.
Overall the collection captured the Zimmermann brand perfectly – feminine, delicate, playful and modern.
