Time Out Sydney

Where it with irony or wear it with pride, but nothing turns heads like a fab vintage piece from one of Sydney's best emporiums of yesteryear chic

Blue Spinach

This Darlinghurst gem is the place to go for high-end recycled clothing and accessories, whether it's a Comme Des Garçons diamond-embossed wallet or a Stella McCartney silk dress.

Cream on Crown

Cream’s three Sydney stores are known for their reconstructed vintage denim and an abundance of cowboy boots.

Cream on King

Cream on Crown’s Newtown sister is a one-stop shop for flannel, floral and Doc Martens.

C’s Flashback

Stepping into this Surry Hills institution can be pretty trippy. There are three C’s Flashback stores around Sydney but this one is the equivalent of sitting in the Delorean and setting the dial to 1985.

Dear Pluto

Follow Dear Pluto online and snap up those rare pieces before anyone else can.

Dolly Up

Come here for tea dresses from the ’30s to silky jumpsuits from the ’70s – hello American Hustle fans.

Fabrique Vintage

A new kid on the block, Fabrique Vintage has stacks and stacks of denim, leather shoulder bags and odds and ends shipped over from Europe.

Mint Condition

Stepping into this Rozelle store is like walking into Mad Men. There are Jackie O pillbox hats, and frocks and silk scarves that deserve a spin around the room.

Miss Brown’s

Head here for modified beachwear from the ’50s and ’60s, daggy Minnie Mouse pullovers from the ’90s and stacks of cut-off denim skirts.

Mister Stinky

With the greatest selection of vintage costumes in Surry Hills, Mister Stinky is a second-hand shoppers’ dress-up box of dreams.

Mulberry Street

Be prepared to pay for quality as Mulberry Street stocks one-off pieces like a red lace Dior dress from $350.

Pigeon Ground

Go for the music collection and riffle through the bohemian threads as an added treat.

Retrospec'd Clothing

Sister duo Sharon Hanley and Teena Borg love the looks from the ’50s, from wiggle dresses to prom frocks, but they recreate the looks from new fabrics.

Reuze Vintage

Curator and owner Angela Greenaway seeks out stock from all over the country and this Paddington store is like walking into a fashion editor’s closet.

Sammy & Sid

This Northern Beaches boutique is where smart shoppers pick up brands like Sass & Bide, Zimmermann, Marc Jacobs and Versace.

Scrags House of Fashion

Scrags has a wide selection of looks from the ’60s to ’90s, with peasant tops starting at $40 and velvet bow ties from $20.

Sydney Antique Centre

There are six clothing stores stationed within the arcade, all selling items from different eras and styles – Keep it Secret is the go for vintage menswear and Zipper on the Side is perfect for shimmery ’80s rollerdisco styles.

Three 5 Nine King

At this Red Cross store in Newtown, shoppers can find rockabilly and punk styles all for under $30.

The Vintage Clothing Shop

Much of the Vintage Clothing Shop’s inventory has been featured in fashion magazines across the country. Shoppers will find YSL, Chanel and Valentino galore.

Zoo Emporium

No one does vintage quite like Zoo. With two floors devoted to their craft, Zoo’s entire ground floor is devoted to sale items only.
