The most dangerous and spectacular of all ocean swims is on Easter Monday. The Tamarama to Clovelly Cliffside Odyssey attracts Sydney’s best swimmers, lured by the challenge of the swell and possible shark encounters. This year, sports commentator HG Nelson will be calling the race from the Tamarama cliff tops.
Those not daring enough to take the plunge can follow swimmers along the new cliffside walk to the finish line at Clovelly Beach, where local Tamarama resident and media personality Deborah Hutton will award the first place prizes.
Partnering with
Greenpeace, the swim will raise awareness of the worldwide challenge to save tuna from overfishing. Tuna are some of the fastest fish, clocking over 70km an hour and swimmers and spectators are invited to join
Greenpeace in the race to save tuna.
After the swim, join the party at Clovelly Beach for music, a BBQ, freebies, and family activities.
