The best in surf, skate, art and music join forces for an epic nine days in Manly (be sure to hit up the Hurley Printing Press)

An action-packed nine days of surfing, skating, art and music is set to hit Manly this summer, with the Australian Open of Surfing 2014.

The Channel [V] stage is setting up camp right on the sand and broadcasting live for two days of free, all-ages gigs headlined by Aussie acts Birds Of Tokyo, The Presets, Illy and Delta Riggs.

The first concert will be on Friday Feb 14 from 4pm to 7pm and feature Animal Ventura, Art vs Science and the Presets. The second concert will be on Saturday Feb 15 from 4pm to 7pm and feature the Delta Riggs, Illy and Birds of Tokyo.
Inspired by the US Open of Surfing in California, the Australian Open of Surfing boasts the top-rated 6-star men's and women's ASP World Qualifying Tour surf contests, men’s and women's world junior star-events and a world-class line-up of skateboarding talent.

Plus, just announced, the unique Hurley Printing Press is coming to Australia for the first time and will be set up on site in a special custom-designed shipping container. Some amazing local artists will design shirts to be printed on the spot: Chris Yee, for lovers of manga, rap and punk; Cam Wall for those into natural beauty; Sulman Prize finalist Ben Fesselet; Manly's on Ben Brown brings his comic stylings; Mitch Revs, known for his pastels and positive messages; and Furry Little Peach brings on the quirk. The printing press runs noon-5pm February 8-13 and 11am-6pm February 14-16.

Punters are expected to flock to this free event in the thousands, so stake out your spot early and make a day of it.
