Time Out Sydney

This event has finished

For a full decade – yup, she turns ten this year – this very popular Australia Day fundraiser ($10 of every registration goes toward North Bondi SLSC's Nippers program) has brought together beach bums and charitable types alike at five picturesque beaches across the country for some competitive fun. Join thousands  who'll ride the surf aboard giant inflatable Havaianas thongs in an attempt to set a world record. And by the way, it's time for Sydney – and New South Wales – to take back the national crown after a three-peat by WA's Cottlesloe Beach, which last year drew 2,099 people to help achieve another consecutive victory.

This year, the fun at North Bondi Beach will also include a giant Havaianas sprinkler, a pop-up retail store, beach games like the Thong Toss, Thong Grab and Tug-O-War, live DJs and prize giveaways. Be sure to register early.
