The Professional Publishers Association has announced the winners of The PPA Awards 2011 at a glittering ceremony in London.

The PPA noted the unique strength of Time Out’s international network and issued the following statement:

“Chosen because of its explosive success online, mobile and in print… Time Out saw its worldwide readership double, reaching 16.5 million people per month, while international revenues topped $80 million. In addition iPhone apps were launched into 11 cities with more than 600,000 (now more than 1 million) downloads to date. Consumers in 50 cities trust Time Out to provide everything they need to make the city their own.”

Time Out’s International Managing Director Cathy Runciman said;

“We are lucky to work with an extraordinarily dynamic and creative network of international partners. Together, we continue to take the brand into new dimensions: mobile application launches, an expanded digital product offering, new print magazines, a vast array of live events, Time Out branded spaces... these are just some of the successful ongoing developments in Time Out's global portfolio.
We are thrilled to receive recognition from the PPA with this award.”

Time Out Australia’s Managing Director Justin Etheridge said;

“The judges specifically identified the entrepreneurial flair and multi-platform expansion of the international Time Out licensees as a key factor in their decision-making. It’s a glowing endorsement of Time Out’s ability to be realised locally while holding true to prevailing brand strengths and global editorial principles.”
