SDC artistic director Rafael Bonachela is back with the tango-inspired piece, Soledad plus Irony of Fate, alongisde the world premiere of Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat's new work.
Soledad is an intimate and intense duet and the winner of the 2006 Guglielmo Ebreo Prize and the Critics’ Prize at the Biennale Danza e Italia.
Irony of Fate is a solo work created by Rafael for award winning dancer Amy Hollingsworth. Amy’s performance in this solo work embodies the spirit of her intensely creative, long-term working relationship with the choreographer.
Emanuel Gat’s works are noted for the formality of his deceptively intricate choreography and for a consistency of vision. They have featured at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York, the Montepellier Festival, Le Festival d’Automne in Paris and the Melbourne International Arts Festival.
