Performers from Chongqing Province return to Sydney this February with an acrobatic take on the traditional Chinese legend of Hua Mulan - the girl who joined the army in place of her father.

Expect to see men, women and children spiral from the ceiling, transform their bodies into living sculptures and backflip across the stage as they take this ancient tale to new and exciting heights. This show is suitable for all ages and will feature 40 performers, the youngest 11 years old. A team of professional martial artists has been incorporated into the show to add excitement to the warring scenes of the original story.

The Chongqing Acrobatic Art Troupe, founded in 1956, has performed in over 80 countries and more than 400 cities. Their acrobatic techniques include Silk Trapeze, Meteriors and Hoop Diving.

Having scooped many awards, including the Splendour Award for Professional Theatrical Artworks, and following a six month US tour, Mulan promises a finetuned fusion of myth, music, movement, costume, and fantasy. Family ticket packages available from $39 per person.
