"You can think of me as Ruby Wagtail Big Noise Anderson Rangi Ando Heifer Andy Langford..."

It’s only fitting that Ruby Langford Ginibi’s epic and unapologetic life is brought to the stage with an epic and unapologetic performance. Adapted from Langford Ginibi’s autobiography of the same name, this is storytelling at its simplest. Delivering a fast-paced, two-hour monologue is a gargantuan task for any performer, but Leah Purcell makes it look remarkably easy in an absolute tour de force. In the wrong hands, this show could easily fall flat, but accompanied onstage by musician Nardi Simpson and the artwork of Lorna Munroe, Purcell makes you feel like you’re in your Nan’s living room as she makes you tea and tells stories from her past. Like a warm hug, you won’t want this show to end.
