The kinky story of a French prostitute who falls in love with her client

After performing to sellout audiences at the Adelaide and Sydney Fringe Festivals, Nikki Nouveau graces Slide with Bordello Blues, her burlesque show about unrequited love, seedy brothels, and the irony of lust without fulfilment.

Nouveau is a purveyor of a new wave in burlesque which combines classical burlesque, cabaret and other performance modes which always leaves audience clamouring for more.

Her debut cabaret production Burlesque Assassin had a sell-out season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2011 and was nominated for the Most Thrilling Theatrical Event Award at the Sydney Fringe Festival 2010.

Bordello Blues, which Nouveau created and wrote, sprang directly from the Edith Piaf song ‘Milord’, about a lady of the night who pines for a man who does not notice her. Nouveau plays Isobel, a French prostitute who commits the cardinal sin of falling for one of her clients.

A talented cabaret songstress, Nouveau bellows out dark songs of love, loss and deception from heavyweights including Edith Piaf, Nina Simone and Marlene Dietrich in between short witty monologues from the dazzling Isobel.

The show also stars Sydney Dance Company aerialists Damien Grima and Simmone Smiles.

Dinner and show: $70
Show only: $25
