Nine delcious acts and courses at Oxford Street's cabaret palace

Slide’s weekend dinner-circus extravaganza tosses its glitter across the venue’s illuminated dance floor stage every Saturday and the occasional Friday night.
Compered convivially by drag artist Verushka Darling, the hens’ party favourite offers up act after act of performance confectionery – a mix of cabaret, contortion, burlesque, illusion, trapeze and other aerial feats. You half-expect a performer to start swinging from one of the venue’s chandeliers.
None of it is too naughty to put you off your food, which is just as well, because some of the best work at Slide happens in the kitchen. El’ Circo boasts an oft-changing nine-course degustation menu with a strong theatrical bent: expect the likes of goat cheese ice cream, salmon in a pot, a triptych of desserts and an aromatic oddity called ‘virtual popcorn’. And just try to resist the invitation to hit the dance floor at the end of the show.
