Sydney's international dance festival returns to the Sydney Opera House
Movers and creators will be converging on the Opera House for a two-week celebration of contemporary dance. Sydney Dance Company's artistic director Rafael Bonachela is on board as curator for the first time, selecting some of the world's best choreographers and dancers to take to the Playhouse, Studio and Drama Theatre stages.
The programme features the Australian premiere China's Tao Dance Theatre, high energy dance meets acrobatics direct from Brazil in Correria Agwa and firery Flamenco passion in Dunas. Home grown talent includes Sydney Dance Company's new collaborative venture Contemporary Women, Anthony Hamilton and Melanie Lane's Clouds Above Berlin and IOU Projects new solo series. There will also be special film screenings, free public dance classes as well as professional and tertiary master classes.
