The 50th Anniversary Ballet Project

A once-in-a-lifetime (well, your lifetime, anyway) opportunity to work with the Australian Ballet

The Australian Ballet want you.

More specifically, they want your ideas. In celebration of their 50th year, the Australian Ballet is calling on aspiring choreographers, composers and set and costume designers countrywide to pitch an original ballet. If it's good enough to captivate them, not only will the creative team have an extra $30,000 to spend, but they’ll also get to see their ideas staged by the company in 2015.

The 50th Anniversary Ballet Project is open to anyone smart enough to not submit a reworking of Swan Lake. Entries close 5pm (AEST) Aug 31, 2012, and will be judged by a team including designer Hugh Colman, Australian Ballet artistic director David McAllister and choreographer Graeme Murphy.

The winning entry will be announced after 9pm (AEST) on November 2.
