The theatre, in the MLC Centre in the dead centre of Sydney city, was contructed in 1976 on the site where the old Theatre Royal sat since 1875. It's the venue for blockbuster musicals such as Avenue Q and Jersey Boys. Major Sydney Festival shows are performed here every January. It seats 1,180 people.
