Who needs the glamour and glitz of Palm Beach when Collaroy’s got charm to burn and much, much lower prices? This YHA hostel is one of the best budget options in the northern beaches, with bright, clean rooms and plenty of extras (check out the hilarious inflatable surf machine). There are four-person dormitories, twins and family rooms, free surfboards, boogie boards and bicycles to borrow, and a compact, solar-heated outdoor pool.
