Close to Sydney University, Prince Alfred Park (with its great pool), Broadway, Glebe and Newtown, this architect-designed new boutique hotel is quite a find. It’s run by the YWCA and is a joy to stay in, as evidenced by its diverse clientele – everyone from low-key backpackers and families through to business people. In-room broadband, air-conditioning and chic contemporary decor make for comfortable surroundings, while a decent gym, outdoor terrace, rooftop garden, secure on-site parking and the usual laundry and kitchen facilities are added bonuses. If you’re feeling flush (or have up to five in your party), the tranquil and very comfortable apartment, with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, courtyards, fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, is wonderful.
